Bring a nice size inflatable screen, a couple of high wattage speakers, and a list of movies that will make your family smile, then you have Movies Under The Stars in Atlantic City for its 4th straight year (and did I mention this is FREE?)

The movie series kicked off last night with Michael Jackson's last part of his legacy with This Is It, and tonight Avatar is on the schedule.  Movies Under The Stars is happening 3 nights a week in A.C. - Sundays in Brighton Park (pictured), Mondays in Gardner's Basin, and Fridays at Bartrum Place and the Boardwalk.

The schedule this year features a lot of animated features and only one movie rated PG-13 (Avatar).  The idea is to get families out to have fun in A.C., and this is for Free!

This season is expected to be better than past years - The Press of Atlantic City reports that work has been done to improve landscaping and lighting on the Boardwalk in an effort to make the city cleaner and safer.  Those improvements should make the Boardwalk a more inviting venue for regular events such as the Movies Under The Stars series.

You can find the entire list of movies for the 2012 summer season (which ends Sept. 2nd) by clicking here.  You'll find great movies like Puss In Boots, Despicable Me, Tangled, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid this season (just to name a few).
