Atlantic City is going to be a part of America's New Year's Eve celebration. A concert at Boardwalk Hall will be featured on ABC-TV's New Year's Eve telecast to round out 2016.

The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority announced Tuesday that a concert with a yet-to-be-named major act will take place at Boardwalk Hall and will be tied to the dick clark production show airing January 31 on ABC, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

The CRDA has a 3-year-$6 million deal with promoter Live Nation to bring at least six beach concerts or events to Atlantic City.

CRDA chairman Bob Mulcahy said money was left over after two of this summer's beach concerts had to be cancelled because of bad weather over Labor Day Weekend. Each of the shows was allocated approximately $325,000.

“We allocated a certain amount of money for beach concerts this year, and two of them didn’t take place,” Mulcahy said. “We had talked to dick clark productions about a connection to their New Years Rockin’ Eve show, and we were able to do this.”

A final 2016 A.C. Beach Concert, featuring Bell Biv Devoe and En Vogue happens on Thursday.
