"My UV Patch," is a device that helps protect yourself from the sun's harsh rays in the form of a heart-shaped monitor.

The sticker-like heart shaped monitor was developed by L'Oreal Paris and is as thick as a strand of hair. "My UV Patch" uses photosensitive dyes that change colors when exposed to UV rays to measure the amount of sun exposure.

In order for a person to know their exposure, they have to take a picture of the heart and upload it to the app. The patch is meant to be worn on parts of the skin that is the most exposed to the sun, i.e. the face, lower neck, and back of the hands.

This new development is perfect in combating against skin cancer. Read more about it here.
