The former West Windsor-Plainsboro swimmer won both her qualifying races and is the solid pick to win the gold…it could be the first of three for the 23-year old.

Cullen Jones claimed a silver as part of the Men’s 4×100 freestyle relay team on Sunday.  The Americans led the race until the final lap with the anchor swimmer for France went past Ryan Lochte which forced the Irvington native to settle for the silver.  He still has a pair of individual events left in London.

Fencer Maya Lawrence of Teaneck advanced to the round of 16 in the individual epee, Nick Delpopolo of Westfield won a pair of matches before losing in Men’s Judo…he is still alive for a bronze medal.  Former Pemberton Township athlete Matt Emmons was eliminated in the 10-meter air rifle competition.

The U.S. Women’s Soccer team which features a quarter of “Jersey Girls” will next play on Tuesday against North Korea.  The Americans  have won their first two matches.
