There is a horse from New Jersey that has a real shot at winning this weekend's Kentucky Derby!

That horse to keep your eye on is Jersey bred IRISH WAR CRY!

I like the name.

The only other times a horse from New Jersey won the Kentucky Derby was in  1915 and 1934, so having another Jersey horse in the running is pretty special!

The owner of Irish War Cry is Isabelle de Tomaso, who grew up in Red Bank.

Oh yeah, speaking of...

So what is the Kentucky Derby without it's traditional drink, THE MINT JULEP? Nothing! Here is my much requested, personal recipe for MY SOUTH JERSEY JULEP that I will be partaking of, while putting my money on Irish War Cry.

Let me know what you think of it.
