Just in time for the Summer travel season, our 'low' gas prices in New Jersey won't be so low. The passing of this bill will raise our gas tax 23 CENTS per gallon in New Jersey...yep, PER GALLON!

Obviously, depending on the size of your tank, that could come out to an extra 3 to 5 dollars per fill up.

The price hike is set to go into effect on Friday July 1, 2016. Wow, that didn't take much time, did it?

Before this tax goes into effect, the average gas price per gallon in New Jersey is about $2.10.

Kiss that goodbye.

According to initial reports, lawmakers will throw us a small bone by lowering the state sales tax from 7 to 6.5 percent by January 1, 2017 and then to 6 percent by January 1, 2018. Gee, thanks guys.

Somehow, the lawmakers are calling this package "tax relief".

So how do you feel about the New Jersey gas tax increase?
