OH, Heaven Forbid!!!

I was born and raised in Virginia.  Even if you were a girl, you still pumped your own gas.  Needless to say when I moved to South Jersey five years ago, I got the shock of my life when I couldn't pump my own gas.  Whomever was working the pumps on the night I put gas in my car for the first time in New Jersey got really mad at me for getting out of the car.  I remember his voice to this day 'GET BACK IN DA CAAA, GET BACK IN DA CAAAA!!!!'

Five years later, I've gotten used to somebody pumping gas for me.  In fact, it's weird to pump my own gas when I go visit my family! I love the convenience, and in some places, the safety.

Now the Garden State is debating whether or not to change the 'Gas Pump Law', allowing drivers to pump their own gas.  On one hand, self-service stations could make gas cheaper.  Local gas stations can save money, and the service would be a lot quicker.  On the other hand, self-service stations could eliminate thousands of jobs.

What do you think?
