The new interchange on the Garden State Parkway at the Atlantic City Service Plaza is just days away from opening.

Exit 41 for Galloway Township will officially open on Friday, February 27th, at 5AM, eliminating decades of having to snake through a rest stop to access Jimmie Leeds Road and area businesses, including AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-Mainland. On that date at that time, the service road that has been serving as an exit will close. After next Friday morning, if you are traveling northbound and you don't use the new Exit 41 ramp, the only way you will be able to access Jimmie Leeds Road is to get back onto the Parkway and travel to the next exit (Exit 50) where you can make a u-turn -- that's 9 miles each way.

The new Exit 41 is just one of several regional projects that have, or are, improving the Garden State Parkway in South Jersey. Others include the removal of the infamous traffic signals in Cape May County, adding a third travel lane, and the redesign of Exits 88 and 89 in Ocean County.
