The NCAA college basketball tournament is in full swing, and Notre
Dame guard Steve Vasturia is right in the center of the action, scoring 20 points for his Fighting Irish during last night's overtime victory over Butler.

Vasturia hales from South Jersey, giving us someone local to root for now that Villanova's been knocked out.

6'5 Vasturia, a former St. Joe's Prep star, is deemed as an all-around contributor at Notre Dame, able to score as well as defend--skills that have led to the success Irish. The team went into this season's March Madness as a third seed.

Notre Dame coach Mike Brey calls the Medford native and Dame sophomore 'fearless', telling Philly.com, "He's the most all-around guy as a young guy that I've ever had. Even last year as a freshman, we were putting him on the [opponent's] best perimeter player offensively because his defense is so attention to detail, whether he's guarding the ball or helping his teammates. Nobody's made more big shots for us."
