Margate Police Department has one of the most well run departments in New Jersey after receiving a flawless inspection report.

Let's have a round of applause for them!

Shore News Today says out of the other departments to receive accreditation from New Jersey's Association of Chiefs of Police, Margate Police passed the muster without question!

Police Chief David Wolfson and his team were presented the certification at the May 5 Board of Commissioners Meeting after a long accreditation process.

The process, which takes 18-24 months, includes inspection of the department's policies and procedures, as well as a two-day onsite assessment.

Then finally, the assessment ends with an exit interview with the chief.

And as it turns out, Margate had no compliance issues!

The accreditation is good for three years, and then Margate Police Department will have to be tested to see if they are eligible for re-accreditation.

Until then! Congrats to Margate Police Department!
