Man Missing After Boat Crash on Jersey Shore

A pontoon boat collided with an unlit buoy late last night, causing passengers to be thrown overboard, and one man still missing.

 

According to NBC 40, The boater went into the water somewhere between 11th and 12th avenues in Longport.   One man was able to swim ashore and notify police, he didn’t have any severe injuries.  The Coast Guard is now searching for a 45-year old man that has disappeared in the Atlantic Ocean.

 

Members of the Longport and Ocean City Police Departments, as well as State Police and Coast Guard units searched the water for several hours following the accident.

 

It is still unclear what may have caused the crash.
