As a server, exceptional customer service is expected.  But what would you do if you saw something  that wasn't right with the customer's choices?

Cristal Perez worked at Longhorn Steakhouse in Millville.  On August 11th,  she was serving a couple who left their dog in the car.  Instead of staying quiet, she spoke up and confronted her customers.  They later complained to management, and Cristal was suspended for four days.  When she returned to work, she was fired for violating restaurant policy about giving customers a good dining experience.

Longhorn communications manager Hunter Robinson spoke with The Press of Atlantic City and said the animal in question was a special-needs dog that was left in the car with the air conditioning on. The dog was never in any danger The police never came. The company wants all its customers to be treated respectfully, and company employees who notice anything that they believe to be illegal or unethical should report it to a manager, who will then address the issue.

The air conditioning was left on for a full hour while the couple dined, but Perez claimed that the dog was very active in that he was panting pretty heavily. It looked like he was having an anxiety attack.
Regardless, Cristal claimed that two other customers saw what happened and called the cops.  Did Cristal do the right thing, even if it cost her employment? Let us know what you think by commenting below....
