Jasleen Chacon-Fernandez, age 1, needed immediate help.

The staff at The Davis-Holland Learning Center in Hamilton Township just gave Jasleen her lunch, and noticed that she wouldn't eat.  She also didn't look well.

After the staff took her temperature, they not only realized that Jasleen had a 104 degree fever, but they also noticed that she had begun convulsing.  Davis-Holland immediately dialed 911, and the operator informed her that she will need to do CPR while the paramedics are on their way.

The preschool owner had some CPR training this past year, and immediately went to work.  She said, 'Even with training, at the moment when you have to use it, you’re in shock. I’ve worked in child care for 22 years and have never been faced with anything like this before. I was scared and terrified. I didn’t want to lose this child. There was a strong possibility she wasn’t going to make it, and we were all crying,” (Press of Atlantic City)

As Davis-Holland continued with her CPR, she noticed that the infant's chest was moving, and she was breathing!  Once the ambulance arrived, she and her staff carried Jasleen to the vehicle, and she was then taken to the hospital.

Jasleen is now safe and sound at home, with her Mother, thanks to the quick response of The Davis-Holland Learning Center.
