Tell your significant other to sleep on the couch if you are struggling to get a good night's sleep. A study has found the optimal sleeping arrangement for women. In a recent study published by Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y, they found that women sleep better with dogs than with other people.

During their research they interviewed 962 women, all who live in the U.S. They found that 55% shared their bed with at least one dog and 31% shared their bed with at least one cat. 57% of the women shared their bed with another person. The study dove into which of the three created the best sleep environment. The answer was dogs.

The study showed:

Compared with human bed partners, dogs who slept in the owner’s bed were perceived to disturb sleep less and were associated with stronger feelings of comfort and security. Conversely, cats who slept in their owner’s bed were reported to be equally as disruptive as human partners, and were associated with weaker feelings of comfort and security than both human and dog bed partners.

Next time you have trouble sleeping, kick your significant other out and bring your dog into bed with you. You will probably get a better night's sleep.
