Kelly Clarkson's latest hint at a big, upcoming announcement has come in the form of an Aretha Franklin cover that wouldn't have been out of place during her 2002 American Idol journey.

Today (June 22), the Piece By Piece singer shared an acoustic rendition of Franklin's 1976 single "Something He Can Feel" (you can watch here) which she specifically noted in a Facebook video was later covered by En Vogue.

Clarkson, who sang Franklin's "Natural Woman," "Respect" and "Don't Play That Song" during her Idol run, paired tender moments with booming trills for the type of one-two punch that first captivated fans and made her famous.

And in the event you're convinced you've figured out the big surprise she's been teasing, Kelly made a point to say there's "more than one" announcement to come, and has jokingly voiced hope that none are letdowns.

"I didn't know that so many people would care," she said. "So I really hope you think the announcement's cool...I'm a little nervous."

While the focus is on the future of KC, she looked to her past in a subsequent Q&A, and deemed "Lost" and "Hand Me Downs" as two of her favorite unreleased demos. You can check both of 'em out below.

On Monday (June 20), Clarkson first announced plans to unroll a series of acoustic performances through the week that collectively hint at a new project she'll announce on Friday (she's identified her next step as the "coolest" of her career). The first was a cover of Otis Redding's "These Arms of Mine" (which was later included on the Dirty Dancing soundtrack) and the second was Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is."

Check out the latest performance, and if you've got any idea as to what Kelly's big project(s) might be, place your bets in the comments.
