Katie and Tom Reach Settlement – Details Not Released on Divorce

Around 5pm this Monday afternoon, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes found a settlement to legally settle their divorce, and amazingly it took less than 2 weeks to get this done.

SoJO 104.9 has been waiting for more specific details to come out on this, but as of about 7pm nothing has been released other than the announcement putting to rest the possibility of a long, dragged out, nasty separation.  Both sides, according to their representatives, seem very happy with the settlement.

Regarding their daughter Suri, Cruise and Holmes have asked for privacy.  In a joint statement released about their 6-yr-old, publicists from both camps stated “we are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests - we express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents”.

To give you an idea of how quickly and civil this divorce has been worked out, remember that Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries of the Brooklyn Nets (of the NBA) have spent about a year negotiating a divorce for a marriage that barely lasted 3 months.

The only details that have been leaking out about Tom and Katie in this divorce was Us Weekly reporting that the couple “fought viciously” over Scientology parenting, and a TMZ headline that blared “Tom treated me like a robot.”

The drama may be over here, but the dirt has yet to be completely unearthed.  Should be interesting to see what may surface.
