JCPenney plans to close a number of its stores, and one of the stores is located in South Jersey.

If you plan on shopping at JCPenney inside the Cumberland Mall in Vineland, you better do it before April.  Forty different locations across the country will be closing it's doors.  It's the latest cost-cutting move by the 113-year old store chain.  Approximately fifty people will be losing their jobs at the Cumberland Mall location.

Meanwhile, at the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing, JCPenney is safe.  We reported yesterday that Wet Seal will be closing it's doors at the Hamilton Mall, along with two-thirds of it's 510 stores.

Quite frankly, it's been years since I set foot in a JCPenney (then again, I don't shop much).  Whether you and I think stores like JCPenney and Wet Seal or worth going to or not, my mind is on the people who will be losing their jobs.  It's for that reason alone that I hope things turn around for the better for these businesses.
