We’ve all gotten the phone calls where the person on the other end is asking for a donation to a particular charity.You can barely get a word in as the caller gives you the information, tries to get you to say ok and, on occasion, asks for your credit card information.

But, how do you know if the person on the other end of the line is legitimate?  Investigate before you donate.  That’s the message from the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs which is providing tips for those who want to be generous this holiday season without being taken advantage of.  Tune in to my reports Tuesday morning.
