The Ironman Triathlon is coming to Atlantic City! The 70.3 mile triathlon is expected to bring in $6.6 million for the city, and draw over 10,000 people to Atlantic City in September, 2016.

This a big deal for Atlantic City since Ironman is primarily held in capital or premier entertainment cities, with only 35 happening in North America. Now, finally, Atlantic City will be one of them.

“That’s 10,000 people dining, shopping, staying overnight, and enjoying Atlantic City,” said Mayor Don Guardian. “Making this a mini vacation that they wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for IRONMAN.” (SNJToday)

The upcoming Ironman is half the traditional length with its 1.2 mile swim, 56-mile bike and 13.1-mile run through Atlantic City

For you brave strong souls out there, registration begins in November. You can register for the Ironman 70.3 here.
