The weather couldn't be better for the meteor shower were going to see in the sky tonight and early tomorrow morning. Here's what you need to know if you're going to check out the show.

According to NASA, we could see up to 100 meteors an hour during the peak of the shower.

The peak will occur just after midnight and into the early morning hours. However, don't be surprised if you see a few before then.

For best viewing, I suggest the beach.

Find a clear view of the sky away from light pollution. The darker it is around you, the better.

Viewers should be able to catch a few meteors after sunset, but things are expected to peak at around midnight into the early morning hours.  With some lingering clouds, particularly in northwestern New Jersey, expected to persist through the late evening, 10 p.m. seems like a safe bet for earlier risers to catch a glimpse before bed.

The Perseids get their name because they appear to originate from the constellation Perseus, though meteors will be visible streaking across anywhere in the night sky. There are many stargazing apps available for smart phones that can help guide your way toward Perseus, should you hope to find it. It should be visible in the northeastern sky after sunset.

NASA will start broadcasting their web stream coverage at 9 p.m.
