We hear about special lunar happenings all the time. Once a year, the moon appears at its brightest. It's called 'Supermoon.' But this Monday's 'Supermoon' is extra special.

It will be the closest the moon has come to the Jersey Shore in 69 years. Still not impressed? This won't happen again until the year 2034.

According to NASA, the moon will be closest to Earth at exactly 6:21 a.m. At that time the moon will be mere 221,523 miles away from us. The peak full moon will occur at 8:52 a.m.

NASA says this 'Supermoon' will appear about 30 percent brighter and 14 percent larger than a typical full moon. Plus, the sun will be rising as the moon hits its peak, which will make for some pretty awesome viewing. That is if the weather cooperates. As of this writing, the forecast is for mostly clear skies Sunday night into Monday morning.

For the best view on Monday, go to the beach.
