You Can Help Restore the Shore
The road to restoring the Jersey Shore is likely to be a long and arduous one. But it will get done with help from the entire community. SoJO is committed to being part of the effort to ‘Restore the Shore’, and you can be to. Keep reading to find out how you can help.
Here is a list of some upcoming/ongoing events to help Restore The Shore:
Monday, November 12 to Wednesday, November 21; 2-6p daily:
The following fire co.’s in Galloway, NJ—
- OCEANVILLE FIRE HOUSE (RT. 9 & LEEDS POINT RD)
- GERMANIA FIRE HOUSE (COLOGNE AVE, BEFORE DUERER ST.)
- POMONA FIRE HOUSE (WHITE HORSE PIKE)
- BAYVIEW FIRE HOUSE (RT. 9, BY ABSECON BORDER)
- SOUTH EGG HARBOR FIRE HOUSE (RT. 50)
–Donations are being accepted daily 10a-3p at the N. Wildwood Vol. Fire Co. 1, 15th St. and Central Ave.
Whatever you can bring. Ready-made food, tuna, canned chicken, peanut butter, microwave meals; personal care items – deodorant, shampoo, and tampons are low. Big men and plus-size women’s clothing, new socks and underwear in all sizes are also in demand. Men’s boots and jeans; outerwear (coats, gloves, scarves for all ages); pet supplies (littler/litter pans); kids pull-up diapers; adult diapers; gifts cards (for donation and discount purchase thru LunchWithLynch.com)
—VFW 1963 off JFK Blvd. in Sea Isle City (at the base of the Sea Isle Bridge); donations accepted daily between 10a-1op thru Thanksgiving
Dropoff for non-perishable food items and clothing
–DONATION DROP OFF St. Ann’s Church 22 Trenton Road Browns Mills, NJ 08015 Doors are open till 6p but you can drop off anytime, just please label it SANDY DONATION. Weekday Volunteers are also needed from 10a-3p.
—Re/Max Community in Mays Landing is collecting donations and is taking them to the different shelters and places in need! Help in the relief efforts of Hurricane Sandy: drop off donated items at Remax Community and we will disburse the items to our local shelters in need. Please drop off during our office hours M-F, 9am-5pm…and Saturdays 10am-1pm. The Remax Community office is located in Mays Landing, 700 Route 50 (corner of 7th & Route 50). Here are some needed items requested by some local shelters:
cans of chicken noodle soup
cans of beef soup
cans of vegetable soup
cans of corn
cans of carrots
individually wrapped desserts (brownies, cookies, cupcakes, etc)
Socks- all sizes
Large trash bags
Women’s & men’s adult depends
Toothpaste & toothbrushes
—Ladies Choice ob/gyn is collecting baby, infant and children’s clothing for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. We will also take other clothing as well. If interested please drop off at Ladies Choice ob/gyn 314 Chris Gaupp dr. suite 101 Galloway, NJ 08205
—Eagleswood Fire House, 219 Railroad Avenue, Eagleswood, Ocean County. Clothing, cleaning items, non-perishable food donations.
—Rebuild Seaside–a grass roots effort to provide relief to those displaced families of Seaside Heights. visit http://www.Facebook.com/RebuildSeasideHeights; helping raise money and awareness of the situation in Seaside Heights.; T-Shirt drive to raise money for those hardest hit in the Seaside area.
