Super Bowl Sunday is one of the biggest eating days of the year, and you won't believe this...the average football fan eats about a day’s worth of calories during the game!

With a food game plan, we can make sure we don’t fumble with our calories and get penalized with the bloats and heartburn (a few little football puns). While no one says we need to eat tofu during the game, there are some ways to cut down on fan favorites.

First the days all star drink, beer -  four light beers is about 400 calories while a six pack of regular beer is 900 calories. One slice of pepperoni pizza is close to 400 calories.  Go with plain or top it with veggies.

And what’s the Super Bowl without chicken wings?  If you making them, baked is much better than deep fried, but if that is not an option, keep in mind that just two chicken wings.  dipped in blue cheese dressing area whopping 700 calories. Not much you can do but limit the sauce and number of wings.

Another good tip, if there is a veggie platter at the party, fill your plate with veggies first and leave less space on your dish for the other stuff.  And try to position yourself away from the chips and dips since it can be easy to get caught up in the action and lose track of how much you’re munching.
