Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, your license just expired and it's time to renew!

Instead of your license expiring at the end of the month, your new four-year expiration date will be on your birthday. The new bill was signed by Gov. Chris Christie on Friday as a way to make the lines at the Motor Vehicle Commission shorter.

Think about it, if everyone's license expires on the same day (and we all know that we procrastinate when it comes to the MVC) lines at the MVC are bound to be long. This new system means less stress and time for everyone involved.

Plus, it's an easy way to remember that your expiration date is coming up. New York uses the same system, and I was able to renew mine easy peasy lemon squeezy.

New Jersey is also pushing for people to use their online renewal system to reduce wait times. Hopefully the new system proves to work for everyone.

Because seriously, the less time spent at the MVC, the better. Read all about the new bill here.
