Far be it from me to balk at a candy display, but Halloween candy displays in the heart of the summer? C'mon!

Chris Swendeman, Townsquare Media

It's bad enough that we are bombarded with "back to school" promotions and ads weeks after school lets out.

Listen, I get it. Halloween is a big deal. Parties, costumes, candy, the whole nine. And there's nothing wrong with celebrating...in October!

My main gripe is that we, myself included, are not living in the NOW. It makes life so much easier. By the way, it's not all our fault either. It doesn't help when you are hearing about "unbeatable back to school specials" and "Reese's Peanut Butter Cup pumpkins are back in season!" I may give that last one a pass.

So, let's collectively make this the focus of our attention for the NOW.
