The ribbon has been cut, the hard work over the last 11 months is now complete, and the former Trump Marina has been changed over - say hello to the Golden Nugget of Atlantic City.

Texas billionaire Tilman Fertitta bought Donald Trump's former property last year for $38 million and re-branded it into the Golden Nugget.  The re-branding brings to the former Trump Marina a remodeled casino floor, refurbished hotel rooms and new restaurants, retail shops, lounges and an upscale spa.

Donald Wittkowski reports for The Press of Atlantic City that the grand-opening festivities continues through Sunday, including a fireworks display on Friday and Saturday nights.

The entertainment this weekend for the Golden Nugget kick-off is top notch, with Third Eye Blind headlining tomorrow night.   The band is taking time out from recording their new release (due out after the summer) to play their 4 Top-10 hits that you know ("Semi-Charmed Life", "How's It Gonna Be", "Never Let You Go" and "Jumper") with some of this new stuff at The Grand inside the Golden Nugget (a 16,920 square foot ballroom).

Saturday features an afternoon with Buddy Valastro - the Cake Boss from Hoboken and TLC.  Buddy's live show is a day of cakes, stories, and fun.  Buddy will even invite a few audience members on stage to join in.

Saturday night sees Whoopi Goldberg take a break from The View on ABC to do her one-woman comedy show.  You almost forget how good Goldberg has been in the world of stand-up comedy, but here is a reminder from a couple of years ago.

For tickets and information, call 866-746-5336 and be a part of the new Golden Nugget.
