Galloway Man Fails in EHT Armed Robbery, Gets Arrested

A Galloway man with a gun walked into the 7-11 store on Tilton Road in Egg Harbor Township early yesterday morning, but ran out without cash, and is now in jail.

According to officials at the Egg Harbor Township Police Department, Daniel Camp, 42, of Galloway Township was arrested yesterday morning on numerous charges.

Police say just after midnight yesterday morning,

police responded to the 7-11 Store on Tilton Road, in the Farmington section of the township, in reference to a robbery. Officer Gary Johnson responded and made contact with the victim/employee, Khaled Muhammad (39 years of age from Egg Harbor Township). The victim stated the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the money in the register. The suspect fled on foot without any money and the victim was not injured during the incident.
The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5’1”-5’2” tall, wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers and a tan baseball cap. These incidents were being investigated by Patrolman Michael Palmentieri, Detectives Robert Harte and Shawn Owen of the Egg Harbor Township Criminal Investigations Bureau. A suspect and a vehicle description were developed during the investigation and that information was put out to all local agencies. At approximately 8:00 am Officers from the Pleasantville Police Department located the vehicle and stopped it on Washington Avenue in the area if Wilberforce Avenue in Egg Harbor Township. The driver, and only occupant, was taken into custody.
Arrested was Daniel Camp, 42 years of age from Galloway Township, who was charged with Armed Robbery, Terroristic Threats, Criminal Attempt, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Possession of a Firearm for an Unlawful Purpose and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

 

Camp is being held in the Atlantic County in lieu of $10,000 cash bond.

UPDATE:

According to Hamilton Township Police, Camp is also responsible for another unsuccessful attempted robbery attempt - this one at the McDonald's in the Festival Shopping Center off the Black Horse Pike. It occurred about 30 minutes after the robbery attempt in EHT.

Hamilton Township Police officials say an "investigation revealed that a white male approached the drive-in window, displayed a hand gun to the female employee and attempted to get money. The suspect was unsuccessful and fled the area and no employees were injured." Officials say Camp has confessed to a total of 3 robberies.
