This weekend's game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the San Diego Chargers game gained headlines when one former pop star from a "boy band" found himself thrown out of the stadium.

Nick Lachey is a big-time sports fan who has had a art ownership in minor league baseball (Tacoma Rainiers) and basketball (Hollywood Fame) in the past.  His passion is for the teams he grew up with in Cincinnati.

The 39-yr-old who fronted 98 Degrees for about a decade before a recent reunion this year was in the stands of the NFL game between the Bengals and the Chargers, and like any passionate sports fan got into talking smack about his team with some Charger fans.  The problem here is that Lachey was in San Diego.

Apparently one Charger fan did not appreciate this, and Lachey found himself escorted from Qualcomm Stadium during the game.  TMZ has the moment caught by what looks like another fan.

There has been no word on what exactly caused Nick to be kicked out, but that did little to dampen Lachey's spirits, as he tweeted "Just got kicked out of the chargers stadium and couldn't be prouder! Go Cincy Bengals" shortly after security took Nick out of the stands.

The Bengals did win, and Lachey kept going with another tweet - "Bengals win again.  I'd talk trash to everyone in SD, but what's the point?  You already had me kicked out of the stadium and you still lost".

Lachey sent another Tweet on Monday afternoon explaining "For the record I was not kicked out of the Chargers game for excessive 'trash talking' - that honor belonged to the guy in front of me".
