The Vogue brand has a crush on Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine. The flame-haired singer snagged the cover of the Japanese version earlier this year, rocking a seriously masculine look. It was the first time a non-model appeared on the cover of that publication in over a half-decade. Now, Flo goes uber femme on the January 2012 cover of the British version.

On the cover, Flo’s fiery waves are a stark contrast to her airy, ice blue Chloe frock. Welch is quickly becoming known for her style, since she isn’t afraid to switch things up and take risks. On this cover, which is a huge score in the fashion world, Flo is a vision. It’s also worlds away from her Vogue Nippon cover and her Nylon cover. She is such a style chameleon and looks effortlessly and stylishly disheveled and gypsy-like. None of these three covers are similar in the slightest, either.

Despite being draped in a gorgeous, high-end gown, Flo admitted that “I’m just integrally slightly scruffy. You know you meet those women who are so cool? I’m striving for that so much! And I’m always too flustered.”

She also spoke about her relationship with clothing, saying, “I’ve always been so interested in fashion and clothes; it’s all part of who I am. This just seems slightly more high-octane. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to be polished.”

Flo isn’t that far removed from her fans.

With two prestigious Vogue covers on her resume, could an appearance on the American version of the fashion bible be next?
