    The coldest day in recorded history for the Garden State was a chilling -34 degrees in River Vale, New Jersey on January 5, 1904.

    Atlantic City

    On February 12, 1979, Atlantic City was at its coldest temperature at -11 degrees. It probably wasn’t the best time to be out walking the world famous boardwalk!

    Mays Landing

    There was definitely little traffic passing through during some of the colder months in 1950. This was when Mays Landing fell to a freezing -7 degrees! Yikes!

    There was no way anyone was on the Wildwood boardwalk during the winter months of 1994. The Wildwood area recorded its lowest temperature ever at -1 degree.

    For Cape May, the lowest temperature was 2 degrees in February 1979, which is historically the lowest temperature. This even beat the recent snowstorm of February 2015 for the title of coldest February ever!
