We are starting to hear more intriguing details about amenities the new Atlantic City Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will offer when it opens in the former Taj Mahal site this summer. One thing we still don't know is an exact date for that opening. However, there are several new bits of information you'll be interested to know about the new Hard Rock. Here are five of them...

1-  Reps from the Hard Rock will appear before the CRDA next week to ask for a variance to allow a 63 foot high sign on the hotel tower and a 53 foot guitar on the property, according to the Press of Atlantic City. That's a BIG guitar!

2- The entire building has been redone. According to PhillyVoice, Hard Rock President Matt Harkness says the 2000-plus hotel rooms and suites have all had a complete makeover.

“We're going all the way down to the concrete-- in the hotel rooms, the casino floor, the restaurants. It's a complete transformation of the property, including the exterior. People won't recognize the look of the place.

3- More seats have been added to the Etess Arena, bringing capacity in the entertainment venue to 7000. The Xanadu showroom has also undergone much-needed major renovations.

4- The Hard Rock plans to live up to their reputation for live entertainment, presenting an expected 200 concerts and shows a year, many of them on weeknights.

5- Three of the eateries at the new Hard Rock are actually holdovers from the Taj Mahal days. Il Mulino New York, the fine Italian restaurant,  the branch location of the iconic White House Sub Shop, and, of course, the Hard Rock Cafe, newly relocated, and no longer in its former Boardwalk location.
