In my experience, most beauty products aren't worth the hype their given in splashy advertisements.  Its buyer beware.  And in most cases I beware rather than buy.  However, I couldn't resist the promise of an intricate high-design manicure in the confines of my own home for under $10.  And the fact that no messy polish or elaborate instruction was needed,  I decided I could spare one Alexander Hamilton for a test run.

Enter Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips.  Two words to the wise:  They're adhesive!  But don't panic.  These aren't your mother's old-fashioned Lee press-on nails that would fly off if you pointed at something too enthusiastically.  They're tiny little latex applaques that adhere to your nail, and last even through showering and remove at the swipe of polish remover.  I was skeptical, but there were so many pretty patterns to choose from, like butterflies and houndstooth--certainly manicuring trickery even my nail diva would take hours to perfect.  So what did I have to lose?  If I messed it up I could just take it off.  So I decided on 'lace' and headed home to experiment!

And voila!  Success!  Easy as 1, 2, 3.  You peel, you stick, you file off the excess, and then show off to all your friends and let them guess how much you paid to have nails that look so good!  A secret you (and Alexander Hamilton) never have to tell.  Lol.
