Elwood Volunteer Fire Company Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The Elwood Volunteer Fire Company will host their 11^th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, October 6, 2012 rain or shine at the Atlantic County John F. Gaffney Green Tree Golf Course, 1030 Somers Point-Mays Landing Road (Rt. 559), Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.  Shotgun Start at 8:30 a.m. on this the regulation 18 hole, 5200 yard course, cost is $80.00 per person which includes golf, a cart and lunch, or $25.00 for lunch only starting at noon with a Chinese Auction to follow.  The benefit is for the Fire Company and Steve Kaenzig a Mullica Township resident who was recently diagnosed with abdominal mesothelioma. Steve and his wife, Linda, have four children. Steve is self-employed and has not been able to work for the past three months.

This year’s tournament is in memory of William “Bill” Kennedy who was instrumental in the organizing and success of previous Elwood Volunteer Fire Company Golf Tournaments. Bill Kennedy was a life member of the Elwood Volunteer Fire Company, serving with distinction for 30 years. Besides being an active fire fighter, Bill served as President of the EVFC for many years as well as serving as President and Secretary of the Mullica Township Fireman Relief Association. Bill was a member of Town Council and a former Mayor of Mullica Township. He previously served on the Mullica School Board. The Elwood Volunteer Fire Company takes pride in dedicating this, their 11^th annual tournament to the life and legacy of Bill Kennedy and sponsoring the William Kennedy Memorial Golf Tournament.
