You know those beloved, not necessarily great yet nevertheless sacred films from your childhood? The ones you grew up watching on repeat on VHS and cable? And you know how Hollywood just loves to ruin the precious remnants of your youth by remaking said films until one's dead horse is not just beaten, but practically pulverized into a pulp? Well, kids, yet another reboot is on the way, this time for Jumanji, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kevin Hart are reportedly in talks to star.

Variety reports that the two actors are in the early stages of negotiating with Sony to appear in the Jake Kasdan-directed flick, which is based off Chris Van Allsburg’s classic 1981 adventure novel. According to sources, "schedules are being worked out... but insiders say things are moving towards a deal."

The casting would, in a way, make box office sense: Johnson and Hart proved their chemistry by co-hosting the 2016 MTV Movie Awards on April 10, and will star together in the hotly anticipated action-comedy Central Intelligence (releasing June 17). Both men have also become formidable stars in their respective genres, with the former pro-wrestler's 2015 action film San Andreas a bona fide hit, and Hart's 2014 buddy-cop comedy Ride Along earning over $153 million against a $25 million budget.

A '90s family-adventure movie staple about a young boy who gets trapped in a jungle-themed board game, the original film adaptation of Van Allsburg's book was released back in 1995. The flick starred the late Robin Williams as the lead, as well as Bonnie Hunt, Jonathan Hyde, and Kirsten Dunst. It was a box office smash, earning over $262 million and becoming the 10th highest-grossing movie of the year.

Sony's Jumanji is set to release July 28, 2017.
