Boat, train, and bus accidents have littered the news lately.  With yesterday's bus crash in Old Bridge a familiar question is once again raised.  Should seat belts become mandatory for public transportation, including school buses?

In my opinion, Yes.  While it will be difficult to enforce a commuter requirement to strap in, I would feel safer having the option to secure my body the same way I would in my own car.  There have been too many incidents lately involving injuries and fatalities from derailed trains, wayward boats, and overturned buses.  Furthermore, school buses should be fully equipped to safeguard students when someone other than the parent is in charge of the wheel.  And, sad but true, it's foolish to think that if we're texting behind the wheel, so could be your bus driver, train or boat operator.

Take today's poll.
