According to a recent article on MTV.com, the legendary Stone Temple Pilots fired their founding father and vocalist Scott Weiland. However, Weiland’s point of view contradicts that of the band’s.

He states that the band “terminated” him in an effort to boost ticket sales for an undetermined tour.

The so-called split came after news that Weiland wanted to tour, with the rest of his STP band-mates, performing songs from their albums Core and Purple, but apparently the rest of the band had different plans in mind. "I learned of my supposed 'termination' from Stone Temple Pilots this morning by reading about it in the press," the singer said in a statement. "Not sure how I can be 'terminated' from a band that I founded, fronted and co-wrote many of its biggest hits, but that's something for the lawyers to figure out."
