Cyclist Near Olympic Park Killed By an Olympic Bus
Sad news to report from London that a man on a bicycle was struck and killed by an Olympic bus in a horrible accident.
The man, whose identity was still unknown as of 6pm on Wednesday, is believed to be in his 30s, is not an athlete in these Olympic Games according to BBC News, and the accident happened close to the Olympic hockey center, velodrome and Paralympic tennis arena.
Police and an air ambulance attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. London's Metropolitan Police say the accident required authorities to halt bus transportation in and out of Olympic Park in East London.
BBC News also reports that he Olympic Bus that struck the cyclist was carrying media from Olympic Park - nobody was injured on board, nobody has been arrested in this situation, and this case is under investigation to determine what caused this accident.
