Coaches Don’t Want Parents at Practice

That's what I was told by some listeners when I asked why there are hardly any parents at my son's soccer practice.

I was told that coaches don't like parents along the sidelines watching practice because it is a distraction during practice. The coach is running the practice and not the parents.

I have been an athlete all my life and my parents were always at my practices and were never a distraction. If anything, it made me feel good that my parents were there with me and taking an interest in my sport.
