Marcus Grimmie, whose sister, Christina Grimmie, was killed by a lone gunman during an autograph signing on Friday (June 10), thanked fans for their support at a candlelight vigil last night (June 13).

According to BillboardMarcus and a handful of other speakers — including local officials and friends — remembered the 22-year-old's spirit while addressing a crowd of hundreds in Evesham, New Jersey.

"She's in a better place," Marcus said. "Thank you to everyone once again. I wish I could elaborate more, you guys didn't know her like I did, so thank you. This is awesome."

Marcus and friends also remembered some of Christina's happier moments: spending time with senior citizens, singing Christmas carols to ring in the holiday season. Marcus noted his sister was lucky to have support and love, and acknowledged that the case may have not been the same for 49 men and women who were killed at Orlando's Pulse nightclub only a day after his sister's death.

"About four miles away from where we were staying, there was a huge tragedy to Orlando, to the U.S. to the LGBT community and to the whole world,” he said. “And I come home to this…I have no words. All of those people that died and are suffering. My heart goes out."

"Christina was awesome," he added. "She loved this town, she loved this state, she loved singing, she loved the Lord and she loved me and she was just my baby sister."
