You can feel the love for moms all day on Sunday.

In Camden, police fronted the ice cream bill for moms to celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday. Everyone's favorite Mister Softee kick-started the event in the Fairview section of Camden by handing out free ice cream late Sunday afternoon.

Police say that this helps bridge the gap closer between the force and the community in the long run.

Lorrie James commented on the event with "I love it. I come every year. It's really nice to feel special and the Camden police do it for us every year."

Not only do the Camden police treat the moms on Mother's Day, but they also do the same for dads on Father's Day in June and continue to do this throughout the summer surprising people at various locations.

Camden County Police Officer Danielle Colon says, "From community members, such as the parents that want to see the city get better they appreciate what we're doing, you know- get out and show a positive impact that we have on the kids and the community."
