Office and Apartment Building Explodes in Pennsville [VIDEO]

An explosion has destroyed a building that was home to a law office and apartment in Pennsville, Salem County.

Police say a gas line being worked on by Kline Construction on the 100 block of N. Broadway was compromised around 8 a.m. Tuesday, reports 6abc.com.

A contractor, Kline Construction, was working on gas lines in the area and struck a main, according to the local police chief.

A build-up of gas in the basement and the building's heater reportedly caused the explosion.

Police Chief Allen Cummings tells 6abc.com, the proximity of the building to the police station lead to a quick response and, luckily, no one was injured.
