Before making us oooh, before the Billboard Millennium Award, before the Las Vegas residency, before the Madonna smooch, before the 7-foot albino python, and yes, even before the Catholic school uniform, Britney Spears was just a lil' TV star from Kentwood, Louisiana trying to make it big in the music industry.

In honor of this Throwback Thursday, a real treat has surfaced from the vaults of Vintageney's most early recordings (courtesy of, um...myself): a super rare 12 minute recording of a 1998 showcase in Singapore, during which the then-aspiring teenage dream previewed some of her very first recordings including "...Baby One More Time," "Sometimes" and a cover of The Jets' "You Got It All," which eventually made it onto Oops!...I Did It Again as a bonus track on certain international editions. (It's also the first and only time she's ever sung the song live anywhere, as far as we know.)

The footage not only gives us a fascinating glimpse at Britney Spears just on the brink of superstardom, but also her truly melodic vocals and that soulful lower register — something we haven't gotten a taste of live in quite some time. C'mon, big notes! Keep in mind, she's still very much a girl here — no older than 16 or 17 at most, fresh off the Mickey Mouse Club scene. The rest, of course, is history.

Watch B-Girl giving us her all just before "...Baby" took over the world up top.
