Britney Spears Leaving The X Factor. Where’s She Going Next?

It's official.  Britney Spears is not returning to FOX's The X Factor.  But it sounds like she's already preparing to take on a new project.

After a lackluster debut on the judges panel of The X Factor the pop star has confirmed her departure from the reality TV talent competition, according to People.com.

"I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it's time for me to get back in the studio," Spears said Friday.

Earlier this week SoJO filled you on Britney's upcoming CD.  She's currently in the studio working on the follow up to Femme Fatale, and new tracks are expected to debut by the end of the year.

In the meantime, Brit is rumored to be considering a residency in Las Vegas, Nevada.  A move that would see her following in the footsteps of Celine Dion and Shania Twain.
