Another day, another music artist suing their label for stifling their career.

R&B artist Brandy is suing her record label, Chameleon Entertainment Group, claiming the Los Angeles-based company wont allow her to record or release new music and has all but halted her music career. Reports claim that the singer's lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday March 29, is an attempt to get released from Chameleon so she can sign a new recording deal with a different label.

The suit claims that the artist signed with the label in 2011, and that the contract gave Chameleon the option to release four additional albums following 2012's Two Eleven, as part of a five-album deal. According to documents obtained by Entertainment Weekly, Brandy alleges that the label has refused to let her record or release new music in an "attempt to bully" the artist into signing a new deal with them. She is reportedly seeking to have a judge void their contract in a court of law, as well as $1 million in damages.

Featuring production by Switch, Mike Will Made It, and Danja, Brandy's most recent album, Two Eleven, was critically and commercially well-received. Serving as her sixth studio album and the first following her departure from Epic Records, the record debuted at No. 3 on the US Billboard 200 and at No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart.

Back in January, the singer released a new single called "Beggin & Pleadin," telling EW, "There’s definitely [an album] in the works. I’m recording in Los Angeles. I’m working, singing, and I’m ready. Nothing is going to get in my way."
