Bradley Cooper to Play The Elephant Man

Williamstown Theater Festival/Twentieth Century Fox

Perhaps Bradley Cooper is seeking to shatter his handsome hunk image.  The actor is about to go from gorgeous to grotesque in an upcoming Broadway revival of The Elephant Man.

Bernard Pomerance’s Tony-winning drama is due to open in the fall. Further details and other casting news have yet to be announced.

Cooper, once played the role to excellent reviews in a summer 2012 limited run at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts.

So much for the old adage that actors only head to Broadway to revive their film and TV careers. Cooper is currently nominated for an Academy Award for his role in American Hustle
