This Friday night, SoJO Midday Host Heather DeLuca stands in support of pediatric cancer research as emcee for the 2013 Blue Jeans & Bow Ties event.

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month.  And what could be better than a casual charity event that encourages wearing your favorite denim with a fun bow tie?  This annual fundraiser assists local families of pediatric cancer patients.

Since 1983, Emmanuel Cancer Foundation has been providing a variety of specialized services at no charge to New Jersey’s pediatric cancer patients and their families. ECF offers free in-home counseling by professional caseworkers providing much needed support and guidance to families in crisis.  Additionally, ECF also provides material assistance, emotional support, advocacy services and emergency financial relief.  To date, the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation has helped nearly 2,000 children and families.
