With the threat of snow looming, I pretty much plan to just stay inside from Friday night straight through Sunday.

Considering I've already stocked up on wine and snacks essentials, all I really need now is entertainment...once you get that far, let the bingewatching begin!

(Note: Some of the trailers contain adult language.)

  • Making a Murderer

There's a reason everyone started talking about it from the moment it came out. The entire series will take 10 hours to watch, which I suppose you could spread out over a couple of days, or...you could really work on that couch indentation. It's the story of Steven Avery, a man who served 18 years in prison for rape, only to be exonerated by DNA evidence. He's then charged with murder two years later...which is when it starts to get REAL crazy. (Bonus: you'll spend all your time after watching it reading blog after blog about the series, and Avery, and all kinds of evidence.)

  • House of Cards

One of my favorite shows ever, this political drama stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, and while the first episode or two are a little slow, you'll soon get sucked in and wonder what will happen next. It's over-the-top at times, but that's part of what I love about it. Season 4 gets released on March 4, so you have plenty of time to catch up by then, especially if you get a jump on things this weekend!

  • Orange is the New Black

Considering how much I love crime dramas and the prison docu-series Lockup, it's amazing how I haven't watched this one yet. It's about a PR exec in her mid-30s who gets sent to prison for some past indiscretions, and the people she meets while locked up. (This is likely what I'll be watching this weekend!)

  • True Detective: Season 1

True Detective is an anthology-style crime drama. Season 1 featured Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, and while I was completely lost (and slightly bored) during the first few episodes, I'm so glad I stuck it out because it got SO. GOOD. (Skip season two though. Awful.)

  • High Profits

A documentary series about a young entrepreneurial couple in Colorado who want to start an empire involving franchising the legal sale of recreational marijuana. I haven't seen it, but friends tell me it's an interesting look at the issue of legalization and money.

  • Jessica Jones

Recently renewed for a second season, this dark Marvel show is about a former superhero turned private investigator, using her talents to keep an old nemesis from harming others. If you're into superhero/crime shows like Gotham, you'll probably love this one.

  • The Following

A crime drama featuring Kevin Bacon as a former FBI agent, brought back in when a serial killer he arrested years earlier escapes from death row with plans to get revenge on said agent. Meanwhile, the killer has amassed a cult-like following of people willing to do anything their leader wants.
