South Jersey has been getting a lot of negative pub lately. Recently, Pleasantville got the distinction of being the "most boring town in NJ." Now a South Jersey city has been labelled one of the unfriendliest.

Conde Naste did their annual Readers Choice survey to find "which cities greet outsiders with open arms and which ones give guests a relatively cold shoulder."

Atlantic City was ranked as the 4th unfriendliest city in the U.S. The mag wrote:

Readers acknowledge that it’s been a rough road for this seaside spot: “It’s struggling with competition from Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland casinos, and the staff are becoming increasingly vocal about cutbacks,” says one respondent. Some don’t think that the “the shopping, nightlife, or dining is anything spectacular,” but others argue there’s plenty to appreciate aside from gambling—if you know where to look. “You can take a break from the machines/tables with a walk on the historic boardwalk or take a dip in the world famous beach.

Really? You're going to judge a city that's down and out and has A LOT of employees worried for their jobs. Granted, do all of the casinos have the absolute friendliest staff? No. But, many do and I don't blame folks for being on edge given the climate of Atlantic City.

The website said that "southern hospitality" ranked high on the list of the friendliest cities.
