It's not an easy endeavor, owning a small business. It requires blood, sweat, tears, and money. Those efforts are to be admired, appreciated, and most of all, supported.

Dear Small Business Owner,

It's been a tough year in South Jersey. There are so many national retailers pairing down their locations, or calling it quits altogether. It's been hard to watch institutions like Toys R Us and Sears close up shop. And that's why I'm writing this letter, to thank you for being the glue that holds our communities together.

Whether it be the corner convenience store, local pizza shop or bakery, or gas station, there's something about seeing familiar and friendly faces. It's a comforting feeling seeing you on a regular basis, getting to know you, and running into our neighbors. I'm always so grateful for that familiarity.

And I don't take what you do for granted. Operating a small business is a 24 hour 7 day a week job. What we see is what you do to please customers. What we often DON'T see is the non-stop hard work behind it all.

Early mornings, late nights, covering shifts, balancing budgets...you do it all.

Here in South Jersey, WE BELIEVE IN YOU. And, we will continue to support you. Because that's what locals do! We stand up for each other.

So, from me to you, THANK YOU, for all you do.

Sincerely,

Heather DeLuca
