Nature can be beautiful, yet dangerous.

If you need a little reminder to seek shelter out as soon as you can when a storm is coming this beach season, let this be it.

On Sunday afternoon in Cape May, security footage captured a bolt of lightning hitting a lifeguard stand on the beach. The video was recorded by Coffee Tyme, a coffee shop in Cape May. The result of the strike shows how powerful and dangerous storms can be, and should not be messed with.

Part of the lifeguard stand that was struck was splintered and peeled wood from one of it's legs, leaving pieces all over the place in the sand around it.

Ever wonder why a lifeguard strictly tells you to evacuate the beach whenever a storm rolls in, let this video be why.
